Corruption : Friend of Foe and Foe of the Economy

Corruption. This ten letter word is any economy’s biggest enemy. It is even worse than terrorism. While terrorism destroys buildings and infrastructures, corruption prevents its (building and infrastructure’s) construction in the first place. If not cured, the epidemic ‘corruption’ results in the loss of a nation’s money, which otherwise would have been invested in the development of the infrastructure of a nation. In a nutshell, it snatches prosperity
from an entire nation.

Epidemic will be cured only if we work together. Being the citizens of the largest democracy in the world, we need to be aware of every single step the government takes towards our development. This is when the RTI (Right to Information).

We also need make a stand against bribing officials. Even though it may be the ‘sanskari shudh bharatiya’ way of getting things done, this holy practice must be stopped right away.  Although it is will be tough to remove from our society, but one day, with everyone’s efforts, it will vanish from our society. So the next someone asks you for bribe, give him the holy ‘babaji ka thullu’.

Elections are the actual fate-changing events in the history of a country. This is the time when every politician will be willing to polish your shoe; a time when the power is not in the hands of the inept politicians, but in those of the common man. In this scenario, please cast your vote wisely.  Cast your vote for the best candidate or to the least inept.

Lastly, don’t embrace cynicism when you don’t succeed.  Cynicism will do nothing more than making you a pessimist and demotivating others from making India corruption free. It surely will take time to make India free of corruption; but when will finally see India emerging as a superpower, you’ll be full of joy.
