Lessons from Everyday

Right from the time we get up in the morning, we are always on the move. While some have works pending in their offices, others have to arrange the breakfast on the table. While someone realises that he has overslept and must get up right, the other one switches off the alarm to enjoy extra five minutes of sleep.

After completing the Herculean task of " waking up", the individual sets off to his workplace (a school, in case of the average kid). An awesome day will mean a bonus or a promotion for the former and praising from a teacher or a smile from a cute girl for the latter. On the other hand, a disastrous day will mean scoldings from boss for the former and scoldings from a teacher for our dear kid.

Regardless of whatever type the might turns out to be, the individual turns out to be exhausted at the end of the day. The difficult part comes when one reaches home. While our office-goer has to prepare a presentation for the next day, our beloved kid has to do his homework and study for tomorrow's test. Finally, after completing these tasks, the individual flings to his bed and has a sound sleep. This cycle goes on and on.

This is the average day in a person's life. In such a life, one would never be able learn something that is both practical and fruitful. What is more shocking is that most of us don't even spare it a thought. No wonder some wise men said " It is possible to be so ignorant that you do not know ignorant you are".

So, the question is: how to learn from our everyday experiences? Well, the answer is simple. One can learn from everyday life simply by keeping his eyes open (not only literally, but also those of your mind). When you at the end of the tiresome day are taking rest and just about to sleep, stop; think about the various events of the day. Did you notice the boy selling hankies on the pavement? It makes us realise how privileged we are. Did you notice the mother leaving her child till the stairs of the school? It shows how much a mother is concerned about her child.

While some consider life a disaster, others consider it a gift from the Almighty whose features are only known after it is observed carefully. No matter what one considers life to be one thing is clear: one needs to know its rules. The rules are taught only by the best teacher in the Universe: Life itself.
