Of Eccentricity

The world’s population is increasing at a fast pace. So is the variety of people.  Some of them include introvert and extrovert, egomaniac and altruist, cruel and benevolent, believer and atheist.

The most appreciated/ridiculed, yet the least found, is eccentricity. Defined by the Oxford Dictionary as a “a strange and unconventional behavior” being eccentric is damn cool! Having anecdotes being told about them, these people are famous in history. That’s why Crispin Glover once said “Eccentric doesn’t bother me. ‘Eccentric’ is just a poetic interpretation of a mathematical term meaning something that doesn’t follow the lines – that’s okay”.

Life is...

Sometimes, we tend to ask ourselves philosophical questions. While the answer of some of these questions is found after 30 seconds of contemplation, the answers of the other questions are obtained after seeking the help of a spiritual guide v.i.z. priest, fakir or clergyman. But even after performing the tasks mentioned above, sometimes the answer doesn’t reveal itself. These type of questions can be called the “serious philosophical questions”.

Top Four Reasons Why Bollywood Is Hated

Bollywood is the Hindi film industry of India, situated in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Ranking second only to Hong Kong, Bollywood is the largest producer of films in the world.

Everything has its pros and cons. So does Bollywood. Listed below are the main flaws for which Bollywood is mostly criticized about.

Value Crisis in the Indian Society

Values are something with which we Indians are very familiar with. Also called ethics, values form a part of the Indian society; a part which is a pseudonym of it. Even the West sees us as spiritual, peace-loving people who have the ability to change their poor standard of living but do not do so. Even yogis are today considered typical Indians.

Mistakes: Blessings in Disguise

“Mistakes give us experiences and experiences lessen our mistakes”

Many a times, we are afraid to try something that we haven’t done before. No matter how hard we practice oratory, we always hesitate to take part in oratory competition. Why? This is because we are afraid that we may make mistakes at the crucial moment. And to us, mistake means becoming the laughing-stock of

Corruption : Friend of Foe and Foe of the Economy

Corruption. This ten letter word is any economy’s biggest enemy. It is even worse than terrorism. While terrorism destroys buildings and infrastructures, corruption prevents its (building and infrastructure’s) construction in the first place. If not cured, the epidemic ‘corruption’ results in the loss of a nation’s money, which otherwise would have been invested in the development of the infrastructure of a nation. In a nutshell, it snatches prosperity

Becoming a Confident Person

Weeks ago, I used to be a teenager who would be very shy. I would stammer even while talking to teachers. Frustrated, I asked my near ones for help but all I got were vague answers. Then, one day, I searched in Youtube for videos on how to be a confident person. After watching the video, it was like waking up from nightmare.

Now, after weeks since I watched the video, I have accumulated enough confidence to be called a confident person. I regard this video to be what one

Impressing the teacher

Last week, we received the results of our exams. In English, I had scored an overall grade of A2 (FYI, in India, A1 is equivalent to A and A2 to B). Even though I had scored an A1 in the content test section, I had been given a B1 in class response and thus, my grade became A2.

After returning back home, I began to think deeply: why had the teacher given me a B1 in class response? Finally, I found my answer.

Consequences of a Racist mind

Often, our T.V. screens get filled with violent and disturbing images during news telecasts. It is nothing unusual to us. Disturbances in all north-eastern states and of course, the ever curfew in Kashmir add to this problem. In addition, we also have racial/religion based violence or conflicts in some parts of the country. Fifteen of the twenty-eight states face these problems.

Discrimination is a major issue in India. It first makes the person p
